She was predeceased by: her parents, Victoria Vorpahl and Lester Vorpahl; her sister Dorothy Schlageter (Pat); and her brother-in-law George Schlageter. She is survived by: her nephew Tom Schlageter; her niece Diane Schlageter; her great-nieces, Leah Schlageter, Madeline Schlageter, Olivia Schlageter, Bailey Wineland and Sierra Wineland; and her great-nephew Bradley Wineland.
Ruth was a member of AAUW, Altrusa, Delta PI Epsilon, Women's Fund Community Foundation, Twentieth Century, Friends of Cerebral Palsy, Oshkosh Women's Association, and Peace Lutheran Church.
