He was predeceased by: his father Jim Hielsberg; his grandparents, Fred, Jean Gerlach, Robert and Barbara Hielsberg; and his uncles, Greg Hielsberg and Mark Konop.

He is survived by: his mother Vicky Gerlach; his sisters, Jamie Schwarz (Brian) and Josie Hielsberg (Dominic Ranieri); his nieces, Starlyn, Taygen and Kobie; his uncle Rocky Gerlach; and his aunts, Julie Konop and Margarita Hielsberg.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in his name.
