He was predeceased by: his father Francis Wingren. He is survived by: his cousins, Gail Steinhilber, Vicky Terry (Bill), Linda Anderson (Roger) and Mike Michels; and his friends, Helen Limberg, Shawn Peronto (Linda) and Dave Herbeck (Tina).
He received the Mielke Foundation award for "excellence in teaching" at the secondary level in Appleton.
