He was predeceased by: his parents, Hershel Ralph Smith and Lenora Courtney Smith; and his sister Peggy Sovine. He is survived by: his wife Joanne; his children, Joseph Scott Smith, Marisa Ann Smith (Mitchell), Angela Sue Jackson and Phillip Sean Jackson (Suzanne); his grandchildren, Aidan Smith (Nick), Chloe Pickett (Tyler), Zachary Jackson (Janae) and Luke Jackson; and his nieces, Jeanie Simpson and Jennifer Laskowski (Rich).
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested expressions of sympathy to be in the form of an online donation in Don's memory to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Resource Center, Winter Park, Florida. (adrccares.org).
