He was predeceased by: his parents, George Barr and Thelma Cook; his siblings, George Barr Jr. (Julie), Phyllis Cyrus (Jerry) and Shelia Williams (Jack); and his sister-in-law Carol Barr.
He is survived by: his siblings, Pete Barr (Betsy) of South Carolina and Candy Barr of West Virgina; his children, Jeffery Barr Jr. (Cathy), Kristi Cooper (Andy), Stephanie Wallace (Jeremy) and Brian Barr (Elicia); and his granddaughters, Tabitha Wallace, Jessica Wallace and Jillian Barr (Gracie). He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
