“Magistra Merritt was my favorite teacher...I had her for Latin in 1980 as a 9th grader at Cammack Junior High. My sister & I can still sing Row, Row, Row Your Boat in Latin & I remember the present tense endings for regular verbs. She introduced me to language & Roman culture. When I'm traveling in Europe, I love visiting Roman ruins...the arches, the aqueducts, the amphitheaters. I know the Greek and Roman pantheon thanks to her, as well as their myths. I'll always appreciate and love her.”
