In loving memory of Lucille Anna Hefner of Huntington, West Virginia, who departed this world on June 17, 2025 at the age of 87. Lucille leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Charles Russell Hefner; her parents, Earl Ray and Catherine Lucille Sams; her sisters, Joyce Wickline (Jack) and Sue Perry (John); her siblings-in-law, Jackie Sams, Betty Cook and Bob Hefner; her niece Becky Wickline; and her nephew Nathan Sams.
She is survived by: her daughter Renee Kessinger; her son-in-law Mark Kessinger; her son Russell Hefner; her son-in-law Richard Lawson; her grandchildren, Cason Kessinger (Erin) and Sasha Kessinger; her siblings, Ruth Starr (Richard), Earl "Sonny" Sams (Louise), Barry Sams (Mary), Orville Sams (Sandra), Robert Sams (Debra), Roger Sams (Jenny), Doug Sams (Bernetta) and John Sams; her son Steve Heaberlin; and her sisters, Hilda Cockerham and Dessie Cockerham. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Church of the Nazarene (321 30th St, Huntington, WV 25702). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 6th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to First Church of the Nazarene Children's Ministries or Hospice of Huntington who helped make her transition a peaceful one.
