He is survived by: his son Mark Steven Hastings; his granddaughters, Makayla Danielle Hastings and Anna Marie Hastings; his granddaughter-in-law Jane Montsinger; his great grandchild Lisa Rubio (Jose Rubio); and his grandchildren, Catherine Carter Parsons (Ed Parsons), Meredith Berger (Jon Berger), Carter Rubio, Megan Parsons, Michael Parsons, Molly Berger and Maggie Berger.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First United Methodist Church in Huntington, West Virginia.
