With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merril Edward Smith Sr. of Huntington, West Virginia, born in Jumping Branch, West Virginia, who passed away on May 25, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Calvin Smith and Ella Mae Reed Smith; his daughter Cathy Perkins; his stepdaughters, Debra Dolan and Kelly Canterbury; his grandson Josh Smith; and his brother Don Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Redden Smith; his son Merril Edward Smith Jr. (Liz) of Winston-Salem, NC; his stepchildren, Teresa Reyburn (Paul) of Huntington and James Dolan of Eustis, FL; and his siblings, William C. Smith (Glenna) of Daniels and Melva Mabes of Virginia. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.
