He is survived by: his daughters, Reba Gibbs (Alex), Felicia Douberley (Barney), Eldonna Pennington (Brian) and Viola Pennington; his siblings, Donald Pennington, Mary Arthur and Sue Steel; and his close friend Pam Young. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
