He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Trocin and Helen Trocin; his former wife Martha; and his daughter Lauren. He is survived by: his wife Peggy; his son Jeff Trocin (Kim); his granddaughters, Kristen and Katie Frausto (Luis); his great grandchild Emiliana Frausto; his stepchildren, Pam Asbury (Jeff), Jan Kincaid (Barry) and Chris Stone (Kelli); his stepgranddaughters, Leah, Carsyn Kincaid and Kyla Nelson (Evan); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Parker and Piper Nelson.

He served on the Board of the American Hospital Association representing Cabell Huntington and initiated the creation of the Cabell Huntington Hospital Foundation.
