He was predeceased by: his parents, Chandy (Thresiamma Pattara) and Kerala; and his brothers, Savio and Thomichan. He is survived by: his sons, Alex, Mathew (Jamie) and George (Sonia); his grandchildren, Andrew, Lauren and Christopher; and his siblings, Katherine Chacko, Kurialachan (Rosamma), Achamma (George) and Chackochan (Mary).

For his outstanding contribution to the community, Joychan was specially honored by MAQ in 2018.
