He was loved and cherished by many people including: his son Andrei (Costin); his parents, Alexandrina Zanfir and Florea Zanfir; and his siblings, Nicolae (Nae), Costantin (Costel), Nae and Costel. He was also cherished by his two sons, their wives, and his grandchildren.
