He is survived by: his wife Elena Zapata; his children, Jinny Marie, Alexis (Rob), Sophia (Dan) and Emanuel; his grandchildren, Raphael and Cleo; and his siblings, Conceição (late Luis Alberto), João Manuel (Maria), Olívia (Antonio Luís), Margarida (late Jorge) and Antero (Teresa). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.
