He is survived by: his stepparent Adah Segal; his spouse Emmelle; his children, Barbara Segal (Howard Brown), Renee (Barry Voronoff) and Joel (Eileen Segal); his sisters, Connie (Chuck Solomon) and Harriet (Jack Lazare); his stepsiblings, Greta and Eric Levitt; his grandchildren-in-law, Jacqueline Raicek, Daniel Steinberg, Douglas Raicek, Margot Raicek, Alex Simon, Mariah, Chelsea Voronoff, Max, Sean and Noah Segal; and his great grandchildren, Sadie, Nora, Ruby Steinberg, Arthur and Evie Simon. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews.

Additionally, he was appointed Officer of the Ordre National du Québec in June 2011 for his dedication and contribution to arts and health care in the city of Montreal. In 2014, he was invested as a Grand Montréalais (now L'Ordre de Montréal) for his outstanding contributions to the community in the economic sector.
