He was predeceased by: his parents, Thea and Stephan; and his daughter Krista.
A memorial service was held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Isles Funeral Home (2 Whitehorns Hill, Twillingate, NL A0G2R0).
Following Gunter's diagnosis of Parkinson's, in his early 60's, he retired and fulfilled his wish of living a quieter life which was Twillingate, NL. Gunter was a master at detailing vehicles, and it became his hobby until his illness, Parkinson Disease, would not allow him to continue his passion.
