Notes: Izak Almaleh It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing at home of Izak Almaleh, in the loving arms of his family, on Thursday, September 15, 2022. Beloved husband of Marta Cianfarano. Loving son of Selma and the late Jak Almaleh. Dear brother of Yakim Almaleh, and brother in-law of Peter Cianfarano, Mary Monaco, Nancy Kohen and Chantal Lajoie, and the late Emilio Cianfarano. Cherished uncle of Noa and Joshua Almaleh; Karina, Francis and Alex Cianfarano. Proud Godparent of Brandon Cianfarano. Wonderful son in law to Rosa and Francesco Cianfarano. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, colleagues and all of those whose lives he touched. He lived life to the fullest and cherished spending time with family and friends and loved to gather everyone together, until ALS took hold of his ability to do so. A special thank you to the caring team of the Montreal Neurological Institute, the wonderful and compassionate doctors and nurses of the home palliative care unit of the Verdun CLSC, in particular to nurse Valérie Caty, who comforted Izak in his time of need, and to his longtime family physician, Dr. Duncan Schellenberg. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean-Talon St. W. on Sunday, September 18, at 10:00 a.m. Burial at the Rideau Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Sources Rd, D.D.O. Shiva at his home through Sunday evening. Remainder of shiva will be private.
