He was predeceased by: his children-in-law, Stephen Berkowitz, Donna, Lloyd Mogul, Mitchell, Sigal Perlman, Clifford and Renee Perlman; his siblings, Henry Avrith, Helen and Lawrence Diamond; and his parents, Harry Berkowitz and Bessie Berkowitz.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Shatz Berkowitz; his children-in-law, Lesley Berkowitz, Kevin Hicks, David Berkowitz and Kirsten Pendreigh; his grandchildren, Max Berkowitz, Olivia Berkowitz, Daria Mogul, Sari, Matt Lezon, Nicole Perlman, Alex Perlman, Rob Hovey, Lauren Perlman and Ryan Perlman; his great grandchildren, Ezra, James, Elliott and Avery; and his sister Natalie.

A funeral service was held on Friday, January 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Paperman & Sons (3888 Rue Jean-Talon O, Montréal, QC H3R2G8). For information about Shiva, please contact the family.
