Nicholas leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Nicholas’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Nicholas will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Constantine Nikolaevich Rumin of St. Petersburg and Lydia Filosofovna Ornatskaya of St. Petersburg; and his sisters, Nadia and Olga. He is survived by: his wife Lydia Demianiuk; and his children, Nicholas (Masha Langeron) and Anna (Norman Southward). He is also survived by his grandchildren, and multiple younger relatives.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral (422 Bd St Joseph O, Outremont, QC H2V2P5). A burial will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Mount-Royal Cemetery (1297 Chem. de la Forêt, Outremont, QC H2V2P9). A reception will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the Mt-Royal Funeral Complex (1297 Chem. de la Forêt, Outremont, QC H2V2P9).
In lieu of flowers, he would have loved to have known that donations were made in his memory to the McGill Faculty of (Electrical) Engineering Scholarships. (https://www.mcgill.ca).
