He was predeceased by: his child Zev Asher; and his sister-in-law Irene Asher. He is survived by: his wife Sharon; his daughters, Beth Asher and Judith Asher (George Ulrich); his brother Norman; his nieces and nephews, Alan, Laura Asher, Karen Asher, Kevin Doole, Brian and Echo Asher; his great-nieces, Alison, Sara and Lucy; and his great-nephew Oliver.
Stan made a rich and significant contribution to the Montreal Jewish community through his literary walking tours, documentary films, and radio broadcasting.
