He was predeceased by: his parent Steve; his siblings, Ruth, Steve and Milton; and his son Thomas Steve Gabrielse.

He is survived by: his wife Idelle Ruiter Gabrielse; his brother Melvin Gabrielse (Jan) of Parker, CO; his children, Linda Gabrielse of Grand Rapids, MI, Laurel Gabrielse Edwards (Bruce) of Morgantown, NC and Michael Gabrielse (Jane) of Spring, TX; his daughter-in-law Jodi Gabrielse-Springstead of Muskegon, MI; his daughters, Megan Harding (David) of Rockford, MI and Anne-Merete Welcher (Kai Aabrandt) of Copenhagen; and his great grandchildren, Tucker Wallace, Haidyn Wallace, Beckett Wallace, Elliette Wallace, Ethan Adams and Asher Adams.

In honor of Richard and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
